Paul S. Castro, Board Member

Paul S. Castro, Board MemberPaul serves as Senior Consultant with Applied Strategy Associates, specializing in executive coaching, organizational development and interim executive services. An active member of the national and regional non-profit community, he is currently serving as Interim Executive Director of the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence. In 2018, Paul retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles (JFS) after nearly four decades of service to that organization in various roles, helping grow the organization’s operating budget to $35 million.

With nearly 40 years of professional and volunteer experience in the non-profit sector, Paul has worked tirelessly throughout his career to further opportunities for disadvantaged and disenfranchised communities in the areas of social justice, philanthropy and fundraising. In addition, he has effectively advocated for services for the most vulnerable members of the community at the local, state and federal level.

In addition to serving on the Whistlestop board, Paul also serves as Chair of the board of the National Council on Crime and Delinquency and board member of the Aldersly Retirement Community. He has served on numerous boards and community positions, including participating in the 2016 Clinton Global Initiative America, advisor to the Nonprofit Finance Fund Healthy Outcomes Initiative, and member of the Community Advisory Board of the Los Angeles Community Academic Partnership for Research in Aging (L.A. CAPRA).
